That's right. In about two and half years I will be a nurse. I just received my acceptance letter to NYU College of Nursing. yay!
Over the past few months I've been increasingly dissatisfied with the frustrating, competitive, shallow world of real estate and was looking for a career that I would find more satisfying, is more in-line with my interests and skills, and would be doing something positive and helpful for other human beings. As I looked into nursing I realized how diverse the field is which really appeals to me. As well as the fact that nurses are highly in demand so I'll basically be guaranteed a job anywhere in the US for the rest of my life.
I love doing volunteer work in my free time, so I might as well get paid for it!

I was always very anti-grad school, but I think it'll be fun to go back to school to learn how to DO something, not just ABOUT something. I learned some very interesting things at Northwestern but really nothing that helped me get a job after graduation.
(It's amazing how much money we spend on a liberal arts education that renders us practically unemployable after we graduate. Sigh.)

So I'm very excited about starting in September. I think this will be an exciting new chapter in my life.
